Advancing resilient communities with integrated solutions on security, sustainability and environmental awareness

Dr Raul Savimaa is a researcher, practitioner and consultant on resilient, integrated solutions for secure communities, sustainability and environmental education.

He is dedicated to fostering secure, sustainable communities. The research is focussed on community and societal resilience, environmental sustainability and introducing environmental awareness by environmental education and close connections with the nature.

Dr Raul Savimaa has 30+ years practical experience in developing security and public safety, but also empowering communities through nature conservation, environmental education and community resilience. Hi received Master of Science and PhD and has continued the research in Tallinn University of Technology related to modelling of emergent behaviour in dynamic multi-actor systems. He is currently Head of Research at CESERE and Research Scientist and Head of the Research Centre of the Internal Security Institute of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. Raul is also the Editor-in-Chief of Security Spectrum: Journal of Advanced Security Research.

Dr Raul Savimaa has participated in and managed a number of international and national research projects, including Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and EDA projects.
